Stage 2 - The Stage 2 BMW E39 M5 Supercharger Kit for the S62 is the result of years of research and development. Redesigned to a new level of technology, the  Gen 3 System features the revolutionary G3 High Torque Intake manifold and Charge Air cooler. At RMS, we took the first incredible design (see History link) for the S62 and made it better. Not an easy task, but that's what true enthusiasm is. We love the E39 M5 and this product speaks volumes to our commitment to this fabulous Cult Status BMW Super Sedan. RMS Hardware - RMS Hardware is known to be the best in the industry. Nothing is spared in RMS hardware design. The S62 supercharger bracket is CNC-machined from solid 1.25" thick 6061-t6 aviation-grade aluminum. Sculpted to support all components and maximize systems integration. The bracket supports the supercharger and has provisions for the RMS Pinch Roller belt management system. The RMS Muli-Roller Blower-Drive system eliminates belt slip and extends belt life in the 10+ psi configurations. This system features two billet dual-bearing aluminum pinch-rollers at the blower to assure positive traction and one easy-adjustable billet dual-bearing aluminum tensioner on an independent slide adjuster.

Supercharger - Our ongoing relation ship with Vortech Engineering and their loyal commitment to providing the highest quality of superchargers has been the mainstay in consistent and repeatable performance with the highest of reliability. We are proud to have them as a supplier and friend in the quest to built the fastest BMW machines. The S62 system uses the V2Si Supercharger. The efficiency band of the compressor side is an obvious match for the BMW S62 V8.

Blower Drive - We spend a great deal of time and effort making the best blower drive components for our kits. The RMS Modular Crank Pulley is a two-piece design. It makes it possible to replace the drive pulley without having to purchase an entire Crank Pulley setup. It's also a quick-change setup for for engines running multiple tunes, track and street. The Hub always remains in place (see optional pulley setups in the Blower Drive category).

Airflow Management - Much thought goes into our airflow components. All components are designed keeping two driving factors in mind: temperature and velocity. The thermoplastic air intake system integrates by-pass control and PCV systems. This RMS By-Pass Valve diverts large amounts of air when not needed, and maximizes gas mileage and smooth drivability by efficiently controlling airflow anomalies. When the accelerator is applied, high rpm power responds instantly.

Charge Air Cooling - The RMS Air to Liquid Aftercooler Manifold is an RMS original innovation. The cooling system id made of of three basic components.  Air to Liquid Manifold - High Efficiency front-mount heat exchanger  and a full time electric water pump. It is a closed system, ie: I does not share the coolant with the engine. Although this high-tech cooling design adds to the price of a standard air to air system, the added performance far exceeds the added cost. In 2001, we were the first to develop a charge-air cooler integrated inside an intake manifold. Prior to that, in 1995, we successfully used pre-manifold charge-air cooling (Aftercooler) on the S50 US engines. BMW uses this technology on the twin turbo V8 automobiles. It is also being used by many top tuners worldwide on exotic engines: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and more.

Software - Engine management is done on the factory chip. We re-calibrate the software for efficiency, power and reliability. All software is done in-house in our dyno lab. We do not depend on outside sources for this difficult engineering practice. In-house means best quality control and most efficient process to deliver the software. No need to send your ECU; the kit comes with plug and play flash programmer. We have calibrations for all modified cars, low-compression gaskets, manifolds, headers, etc.


Warranty:  This product carries a 12 month 12,000 conditional warranty. This product must be used as designed unless pre-approved in writing by RMS MANAGEMENT. Modifications or changes in any of the components will void the warranty. This product is supplied with base software that may require adjustment depending on other modifications made to engine operating systems such as , but not limited to racing camshafts, headers, compression ratio.  It is the buyers responsibility to have the product installed by a qualified BMW tuning shop. In the event that software calibration is needed, at owners expense, the vehicle must be tested by a qualified technician with all required tools and test equipment in order to report all operating parameters pertaining to air-fuel-ratio, ignition timing and any other operating parameter that may require attention. This product is intended for off road use only and not  smog legal in some states. Check with your local DMV if your vehicle can be legally operated in your local area.
